The Leviathan

Inspired by the Conceptart.org character challenge this week, that being the Leviathan and it’s vessel! I didn’t end up actually doing the challenge, due to being swept up by schoolwork, but I did manage to churn out this illustration and some concept art. Check out the character and creature concept work I did for this piece!

I think I’m going to try to marry my concept art to my illustration more often. My illustrations always come out so much richer if I take the little bit of time upfront to dedicate myself to designing the individual elements of the piece, rather than just going in and making stuff up as I paint it.
